Classic StingRay construction with Linde body
The construction of the Sterling SUB Ray 4 follows the classic StingRay, but the four-string has a body made of lime. In combination with the sixfold screwed maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, this promises a crisp primary tone that forms the perfect basis for pushing rock grooves with its fat low end and brilliant highs. On the narrow neck with its well-formed profile, the four-string invites you to play bass for hours.
Typical StingRay sound
The electric tone conversion of the Sterling SUB Ray 4 is done by a fat humbucker with open pole Pieces, which is placed in the typical sweetspot of the string vibration. Accordingly, the 4-string bass at the amplifier delivers a rich sound with a powerful push from the bass cellar and a concise high spectrum that is perfect for rocking riffs or assertive accompanying grooves. In addition, the Sterling SUB Ray is equipped with an active 2-band tone control to adjust the sound image.
