Second Generation of the Strymon Blue Sky with an expanded feature set
With the Strymon Blue Sky V2 Reverberator, the Californian effect specialists present the next Generation of their popular Reverb pedal, which promises first-class sound experiences with increased processing power and an expanded feature set, without denying the straightforward operating concept. While the input stage built-in analogue JFET technology provides a natural and organic feel, the powerful ARM DSP promises an exceptionally detailed and lively output of the Room, Spring and Plate algorithms. In addition to the modulation effect, which can be switched in two intensities, the Blue Sky V2 offers a dedicated control for direct access to the coveted shimmer effect. Last, but not least, Strymon equips the Blue Sky V2 Reverberator with extensive MIDI capabilities, a connector for optionally available expression pedals and a USB-C jack.
Despite the diverse sound possibilities, the Strymon Blue Sky V2 Reverberator convinces with an intuitive control concept.
ARM DSP and three algorithms
At the heart of the Blue Sky V2 is a powerful ARM processor that helps bring the three reverb algorithms to life, delivering highly detailed studio-quality sounds. The Spring algorithm represents the oozing reverb of classic spring reverb systems used in the best combo amps of the golden era. Room mode, on the other hand, is all about the natural reverberation of rooms of varying size, while Plate provides the crisp and smooth sound of a reverb plate otherwise only found in Studio. In addition to the Pre-Delay and Decay controls, which determine the time until the reverb kicks in and its decay time, the Blue Sky V2 offers High and Low pots for adjusting the tone and a Mix pot for the ratio of effect and dry signal.
Shimmer and modulation
Of course, the Strymon Blue Sky V2 Reverberator offers the coveted shimmer effect, which adds an additional pitch-shifting effect to the reverb depending on the selected algorithm and can be adjusted in intensity via its own potentiometer. The integrated modulation effect also brings the overall sound into harmonic motion, with two intensities available for light and deep sound variations.
Extensive connections
In addition, the Strymon Blue Sky V2 reverberator pedal comes with extensive connection options, and it can be easily integrated into complex rigs. The input jack can not only be used for mono or stereo signals, but can also be switched between instrument or line level. In addition to separate stereo outputs, there is also a combined connection for optionally available expression pedals or TRS-MIDI, while the USB-C connection allows firmware updates or USB-MIDI applications.
