The Strymon Lex V2 Rotary is designed to authentically reproduce the legendary sound of classic vintage rotary speakers. This sophisticated effects pedal skilfully reproduces all the subtleties, from the starting speed of the rotors to the distinctive Drive of the preamp to the distance and positioning of the microphone on the speaker, and offers a number of useful additional features that make the Strymon Lex V2 compatible with a wide range of instruments and almost any application, from studio recordings to live performances.
Classic Rotary Controls
To control the simulated rotary speaker, the Strymon Lex V2 offers a Speed control that determines the rotation speed of the speaker. Individual settings are possible for the two speeds that can be switched via the Slow/Fast Switch, and you can switch back and forth between the two settings at any time by foot. The setting of the Ramp Switch determines the transition time between both modes. In addition, there is a horn Level knob for the volume of the Treble horn and a preamp Drive control on board, which influences the simulated tube preamp of the Rotary Cabinet and further turned up creates a warm and organic tube Drive.
Professional microphone simulation
To add additional options to the Lex V2's sonic diversity, extensive microphone placement options are also available. The Mic Switch offers two positions of the microphone for this purpose and optionally places it in front of the speaker for an open and direct sound, while the Rear Mode simulates miking from behind and comes up with a warm, bass-driven sound. In addition, the Mic Distance control determines the distance of the microphone to the cabinet, and the appropriate position between direct cab sound and rich ambience sounds with three-dimensional space sound to find.
Connections for stage, rehearsal room & studio
The Strymon Lex V2's numerous front-panel connectivity options prove that it's ready for any application. For use with stereo setups, there is a switchable mono/stereo input and separate outputs for the left and right channels, while the combined EXP/MIDI jack allows you to record expression pedals, footswitches and MIDI devices. In addition, a USB port is on board the Lex V2 as another option for MIDI control and firmware updates.
