The Antares Aspire Evo (Licence) is a breathing sound modulation plugin that allows you to amplify or attenuate the exhalation of vocal recordings. The plugin automatically analyzes the sound of the vocalist's voice and separates the melodic component of the sound image from those frequencies that can be traced back to the breathing while singing. The aspiration can then be increased or reduced as desired. In addition, new additional frequencies can be added in order to distort the sound of the breath. The few controllers and clear design of the user interface allow even absolute beginners to quickly familiarize themselves with the tool. This makes it especially useful for detailed post-production in the professional and beginner areas of studio recording and home recording.
Aspiration is a natural component of song and the human voice in general. It can be controlled to a certain degree by the singer, but is an individual question of style and partly anatomical. Until now, sound engineers have been helpless against these characteristics of the vocalist's voice, although the degree of breathing during singing should be stronger or less pronounced, depending on the area of application. With Aspire Evo, this aspiration component can now be modulated according to the user's wishes to suit the application area. Especially dramatic vocal parts often benefit from more breath sounds, whereas softer, gentler parts often sound more pleasant with less breathing. Additional frequencies can also be added to make voices sound rougher or whisperer. The spectra range from subtle to extraordinary, from a soft touch to a smoky, scratchy note. With the help of a graphical representation of the sound curve, it is easy for the user to see which frequencies are being changed. With just a few clicks you will quickly get a much more fitting characteristic of the corresponding vocal part.
