The Modamp 1005 from Behringer is a combination of ring modulator and VCA. The circuit can be used as a simple VCA with switchable characteristics (linear or exponential) or as a ring mod ulator. The functionality of the ring modulator is to modulate one or both inputs, generating sum and difference of both input signals at the same time, additively an offset can be set for channel 1. As a special feature it is possible to switch between MOD and UNMOD by means of a gate.
For some, the ARP 2500 might be the holy grail of synthesizer history. Definitely rare, extremely impressive in its dimensions, sonically overwhelming and then as now a unique specimen. Built from 1970 to 1981, this dinosaur of analog synthesizers looks very tidy despite its modularity implemented throughout, thanks to the router system used. Behringer has reduced the module to the compact Eurorack format and meticulously kept to the historical originals both functionally and sonically.
I've got a few of the other 2500 clones and was waiting for this to come in stock, will be perfect once the VCO module are in stock although using it with A-110-2 and A-110 Doepfer modules adds some really interesting sonic textures to my soundscapes. For the price, any of the 2500 modules are worth buying.
