Compact guitar combo amp with Bluetooth and USB-C charging function
With the new version of the Blackstar Fly 3 Charge, Blackstar presents the next Generation of the popular combo amp, which is not only suitable for the official amplification of electric guitar but also excellent for playing music via smartphone or tablet. As an electric guitar amplifier, the compact 3-watt combo convinces with its surprisingly grown-up sound, which invites inspired practising thanks to the switchable Overdrive and delay. Here the amplifier also the Blackstar Infinite Shape feature, with the sound character between British mid-bite and American Scoop are adjusted. Thanks to the Bluetooth interface, the Blackstar Fly 3 Charge easily makes contact with smartphones, tablets or laptops and then acts as an external speaker with undistorted playback. furthermore, the combo amplifier offers a headphone jack and a line input in mini-jack format and a convenient charging function with USB-C port.
This is a superb little amp which sounds way better than its size and price suggest. Everything feels solid and the range of tone and drive you can get out of this thing is astonishing. From clean jazzy tones, to crunch, to cranked overdrive, this seems to cope well across the board. I was a little worried that there wasn't any tone control, but that weird UK/US tone control is surprising useful, and with that and the coil tapping on the guitar I've not had any problems getting the kind of tone I was going for. Very impressed.
