The Electro Harmonix Freeze Sound Retainer pedal lets you capture a frozen moment and turn it into a tonally unique sonic foundation.
The Electro Harmonix Freeze Sound Retainer delivers infinite sustain of any note or chord at the press of a momentary footswitch. Release the footswitch and you are again sample ready. Three selectable decay rates, including a latch mode, guarantee liquid, smooth tonal transitions.
Hook the Freeze up with your favorite pedals for a sonic collage that will be unlike anything you have ever heard. It’s like adding an extra musician to the band.
Electro Harmonix Freeze features include:
Freeze sustains any note or chord, like a piano’s sustain pedal. It sounds like the couple mil seconds looper. Great stuff especially with POG, to simulate keys. I use it mostly to get a mellotron sounds, but I need more pedals to do that like: reverb , vibrato, and swell and delay and POG.
Its good quality buffered Bypass, not a true bypass but it doesnt matter live performances.
This is a superb pedal that has been crucial in recording one of my new tracks for a forthcoming album. Its totally unique and allows for endless exploration
I love this pedal so much! It is one of the gems in my effects chain! Its great for those moments where you want to infinitely sustain a sound during a solo! The sound quality is excellent and it is very durable and stage ready. My recommendation for users of this pedal is to put it first in the effects chain, followed by a Wah-Wah or Volume pedal. You will achieve an excellent sound and become a real showstopper. Enjoy this pedal!
It is a special pedal you not going to use every time. but you can use for the backing sound for improvisation and do some special effects.
It is somehow tricky to get right timing when I tried first time but eventually getting okay. It's a buffer bypass but I think the buffer is high quality. I don't feel any tone sucking when it bypassed.
Bill Frisell use this pedal very well. I found out the pedal is best for Ambient/Experimental/Fusion Jazz style. Watch his playing on youtube.
