electric guitar from Epiphone in SG construction
Specially designed for musicians with high demands on their instrument, the Epiphone SG Modern Figured Purple Burst combines classic SG styling with modern detail solutions. The electric guitar from Epiphone's popular 'Inspired by Gibson' collection naturally features licensed shaping and dimensions of the original, so that the classic feeling of the famous solid-body guitar of the early sixties is felt from the very first minute of playing. The multi-faceted switching options, on the other hand, expand the tonal possibilities, while the slim neck design forms the perfect basis for unrestricted playability. including premium gig bag!
The Epiphone SG Modern Figured Purple Burst combines classic design elements of the SG with modernized features.
Modern SG design
Although the basic construction of the Epiphone SG Modern Figured Purple Burst remains true to its role models, some interesting modernized features are also used here. As a special visual highlight, the classic mahogany SG body is finished with a two-piece curly maple veneer, the strong grain of which creates an appealing depth effect. The asymmetrically designed 'Slim Taper C' neck profile of the mahogany neck provides the right thumb rest for a wide range of playing techniques on the 24-fret ebony fingerboard.
Epiphone ProBucker pickups
Two in-house Epiphone ProBucker humbuckers in the neck and bridge position really get going on the amplifier. The sound of the two double coilers is clearly reminiscent of the expressive sounds of Blues and rock and is versatile enough to produce the right sounds in almost any genre. Naturally, sophisticated electronics also play an important role here: both pickups can be switched separately to coil split mode via the push/pull function of the two volume controls, and there is even an integrated phase inversion via the push/pull tone control.
