Please know that I havent used high-end mics.. the best have been a pair of SM57s and SM58s, and a Beyerdynamic bass drum mic.. Apart that I only own low end mics.
This pair of matched condenser mics was a huge "wow" for me in my intro to condenser mics - Ive recorded vocals, guitars (electric and acoustic), bass, and drum overheads with them - but apart the drums overheads, I didnt depend entirely on these, micing the band with multiple mics to have more options production-wise.
The mics are very detailed, so while micing an acoustic guitar with my cans on I could clearly detect the simplest sounds such as the guitar rubbing on my jeans, or simply skin rubbing against pretty much everything. I was definitely wasnt used to this with my dynamic mics, and that was what I was after.
Having the two switches to lower the mic output and do a slight LP are a plus, particularly for live-performance setups, but Im not too sure about the quality of the switches (they do feel a little flimbsy, and the signal has a slick pop when flipping them).
For sure I ll be blown away with some top-notch condenser mics, but if you have a budget and simply want something that allows you to capture a stereo signal with good fidelity, these are a nice choice.
The other accessories (mic holders, stereo-mic holders, separate capsules and the wooden box) are a plus to the package as well.
Used these in a live performance as mikes for a choir of 10 persons singing with a band. The mikes picked up the singers loud and clear without picking up any of the instruments. Not overly sensitive to feedback either. Excellent price/quality.
Don't forget to get a phantom power supply if your mixer doesn't supply it.
