With the latest version of the Gibson SG Standard 2019, Gibson presents the classic Doublecut design with the characteristic sound and feel of the 1961 original. The classically slim mahogany neck in the familiar Slim Taper profile creates a familiar Gibson feel across all 22 frets, while two Gibson 490R and 490T humbuckers provide the necessary output for powerful overdrive sounds. The Gibson SG Standard 2019 is completed by solid SG hardware with Tune-o-Matic bridge, aluminium stopbar and Grover Rotomatic mechanics in chrome finish.

Double Cut Mahogany Body and Slim Taper Neck
The all-mahogany construction of the Gibson SG Standard 2019 follows the slender original dimensions of the early models and presents the classic resonant glue connection between neck and body for the unmistakably powerful sustain of the SG and a comfortable thumb rest in the high registers. 22 frets in cryogenically treated low format not only offer a tried and tested vintage feeling, but also far less wear and tear on the fret wire in the long term.
490R & 490T Modern Classic Humbucker
Two classic Gibson 490R and 490T "Modern Classic" humbuckers deliver the most famous sounds of the SG between neck and bridge and remind with their Alnico II sound of the distinctive midrange of classic PAF pickups. In the neck position, the 490R produces distinctive neck sounds with amplified mid-range response, while in the bridge position, the 490T produces a powerful, clear sound with strong trebles and mids. Both pickups are classically controlled by separate volume and tone controls as well as a 3-way toggle.
Solid hardware from Gibson and Grover
The hardware equipment of the Gibson SG Standard 2019 also follows the model of the early sixties and consists of a Nashville Tune-o-Matic bridge with six individually adjustable string riders and a matching aluminium stop bar. The headstock, on the other hand, features six original Grover Rotomatic tuners with stable tuning and durable metal kidney grand pianos. All hardware of the Gibson SG Standard 2019 is kept in the uniform chrome finish.
