The L.R. Braggs M1A Active Acoustic Guitar Pickup is a high-quality active-acoustic guitar pickup for placement in the soundhole featuring a built-in class A preamp, and super simple mounting system; includes cable with built-in socket.
The M1 is for players who love big acoustic tone with high feedback resistance on any stage. Combining the natural characteristics of your guitar’s soundboard with a punchy string attack, the M1’s body-sensitive design provides enhanced realism while cutting through a loud mix.
The M1 is a patented humbucking pickup with a twist. In a common stacked humbucker, the lower coil cancels hum, but doesn’t contribute anything positive to the sound. We unlock the lower coil with a carefully tuned support that allows it to capture higher frequency resonances. As the pickup moves with the guitar’s soundboard, a body signal is created in the suspended coil that adds presence and realism to your amplified sound.
The main features of the L.R. Braggs M1A Active Acoustic Guitar Pickup include:
On my Martin HD-28 I had a Fishman Piezo. It sounded like a Strat. Well, maybe not that bad, but not a good acoustic reproduction of the sound. I replaced it with the LR Baggs and Wow! The amplified acoustic sound is great. Great acoustic sound reproduction. Nice also if you do any percussion on the guitar as the Baggs picks this up fine. Other than the percussion part though, its tough to say if this is any better than the Fishman Rare Earth.
