Pearl e/Merge: The MDL1 module overview

Driven by two processors (4 core + 2 core), the module of the Pearl E-Drum Set is designed for high musical performance. Almost all 700 sounds were recorded at the historic Music City Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Modern and vintage drum sets from Pearl and various cymbal series are sampled extensively and faithfully and stored on the module. 35 drum kits are pre-stored on the module, but of course you can also set up user kits according to your own ideas. 36 on-board effects let your own ideas of drum sound become reality. The built-in recording function (44.1Hz, 16-bit WAV) allows 12 hours of recording. A built-in metronome with 10 different click sounds and variable tempo settings from 30-300 bpm can be routed to the headphone output, ideal for live performances with electronic drums. The Ambient Slider changes the sound of the samples based on the ambient sound. This allows you to add color, natural reverberation and live atmosphere to any sound with a single hand movement. The 3.25" color display enables intuitive operation and fast switching. Two master outs can be assigned different sums, and the Pearl module has 8 direct outs, believe it or not. This creates absolutely professional conditions for live gigs. 3 additional trigger inputs, an AUX-IN as well as Midi-Out and USB-A connection complete the module perfectly.

Korg Wave Drum: Drum Pads with Wave Trigger Technology

The Wave Trigger technology, based on the Korg Wave Drum, uses the parallel processing of your playing style and your sound and seamlessly inserts them into high-definition samples of real Pearl acoustic drums to achieve a sensational end result that reflects the style of the drummer as in an acoustic performance. With WTT, for example, multi-layer samples are processed at lightning speed, latency is no longer a factor and the sensitivity of the pads is different at every point on the playing surface. The natural playing feel with sensitive response that is created makes the PUREtouch Electronic Pad System the new industry standard. The patented pads come with a 6-layer mesh head and create a very natural playing feel. For the first time it is possible that the choice of drumsticks plays a role for an e-drum set, because the sound is intelligently sampled. Each area of the snare drum reacts like an acoustic drum from center to edge. Each e/Merge drum kit contains a PUREtouch Electronic Cymbal Pack consisting of an 18" 3-zone ride, a 15" 2-zone crash and 14" 2-zone hi-hat. The PUREtouch crash and ride cymbals have a multi-layer construction encapsulated in rubber. They have a similar response to acoustic cymbals, but with a softer feel for controlled volume. The Capacitive Motion Sensor in the Hi-Hat further improves response and sampling. The Traditional Kit configuration features the EMKCPC PUREtouch Kick Pad Complete, which creates a realistic playing feel and absorbs impact sound.
