➔ List with compatible PCIe cards
The Sonnet Echo II DV Expansion Module is a Thunderbolt-to-PCIe card expansion with two independent PCIe 3.0 slots designed for demanding digital video applications. With its support for high-performance DV I/O cards, it enables the full bandwidth of modern M-Series Macs and other Thunderbolt 4/3 compatible computers to be utilized. Each of the two PCIe slots has its own Thunderbolt interface, allowing even bandwidth-intensive cards such as the DeckLink 8K to be used optimally.
The module can even be used on computers with only one Thunderbolt port thanks to the integrated daisy-chaining function . The four Thunderbolt 3 ports offer flexible connection options, with two of the ports reserved specifically for connecting to the host computer. An integrated 400 W power supply and two 75 W auxiliary ports ensure that even powerful PCIe cards, such as the AJA Kona 5 or the Blackmagic DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G, can be operated reliably.
Quiet operation is ensured by two temperature-controlled Noctua fans, which operate at variable speed and offer a low noise level of just 17 dBA. With a maximum data transfer rate of up to 3000 MB/s for Thunderbolt 4 computers, the Echo II DV Expansion Module guarantees maximum performance for demanding workflows. Thanks to the automatic on/off function, the device conveniently synchronizes with the connected computer.
