The Rock Foundry SDX by Toontrack was recorded at The Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, Canada according to Bob Rock's personal wishes and offers the most versatileselection of drums, room ambiences and sound editing options imaginable. In fact, these are 2 independent SDXs configurations - "Main" and "Mono". The "Main" configuration offers 6 different drumsets classically recorded with a very elaboratemulti-microphonyprocedure. "Mono" offers an extremelyinteresting and minimalistic sound, recorded with a very reduced setup. In addition to the included 7 complete drum sets, the SDX also offers a hugeselection of additional snares, bass drums and cymbals. This makes The Rock Foundry SDX a lavishly rich palette of raw drum sounds that can be used to create professional drum mixes within Superior Drummer 3's powerful production environment.
Legendary presets or your own creation?
If songwriting and the performance of a song are described as magic, the production and engineering can certainly be regarded as alchemy, which raises the music to a higher level of perception and establishes the sound as "legendary" for eternity. The secret is the exact positioning of the microphone, the placement of the drums in the room and finally the individual processing of each individual instrument so that it fits perfectly into the mix. The last step is of course left to the SDX user himself. But if you prefer to use Bob Rock's personal drum mixes as a starting point for your own sound editing, we have of course put together enough interesting presets that were created by the master himself.
