The Behringer TUBE ULTRAGAIN MIC100 is a vacuum tube
mic/line preamplifier with integrated limiter for studio, live and
hard disk recording applications.
The TUBE ULTRAGAIN MIC100 features a carefully selected 12AX7
vacuum tube with UTC technology for exceptional warmth and lowest
noise. Thus, the MIC100 can be used to eliminate the dull sound of
standard digital recorders and sound cards. Also, it perfectly
complements studio-grade condenser microphones. When used as a
high-end DI-box, it ensures outstanding signal integrity. The TUBE

I have a Zoom L-20 Livetrak Mixer/Recorder and use several of these as required to utilize The extra inputs 17/18/19/20. 1-16 are combi xlr/jack inputs (with Phantom power available) and have gain/pad controls (pre-fader to set the incoming level before using the mixing fader controls on the desk/unit. inputs 17-20 are line level (3/4 jack or rca) with no volume/gain control... using these Behringer Mic pre amps I can turn any or all of these inputs into fully controlable Additional Mic Lines (with Phantom power if needed) or instruments, but most importantly see and set the incoming levels with the 8 led display before adding them into the mix, or if recording live gigs useful fo Capturing the crowd participation/ambience.
I bought the mic100 for a couple of applications, one was as a preamp to drive an amp a bit harder and the other as a mic pre for studio recording. So far in the short time that I’ve had the unit it has performed well in both areas.
This item delivers everything it promises. Ive used it to record both instruments and voice, and it was always a great asset, allowing me to boost signals, without spiking them. At the same time, this pre-amp keeps the signal clear and authentic, it really is just a "volume" booster.
