Founded back in 1927 in Indiana, Electrovoice has been manufacturing loudspeakers since the 1950s and is still an established name in the industry today. The name stands for robust quality products that are used professionally all over the world. The ELX series follows this tradition and convinces with its modern design, contemporary features and superior performance.
Modern, digital power amplifiers have several advantages: Class-D output stages have a significantly higher efficiency than Class-B designs. In some cases it is over 90 %. Since less power is dissipated as heat, the cooling and mains transformer can be smaller, which results in significant weight savings. Therefore the Electro Voice ELX-18P weighs only 31.7 kg despite its large and robust housing. The spacious bass reflex wooden cabinet and the powerful 18" woofer provide a sound pressure level in the bass range that cannot be achieved with normal full-range speakers. With an output of up to 700 watts, the Class-D power amplifier has sufficient reserves to give transients the necessary boost, and still manages without a fan. This allows for a maximum sound pressure of 134 dB.
The rear connection panel offers an adjustable input with XLR/TRS combination socket. The master level control is accompanied by a limit LED, which indicates when the internal limiter intervenes to protect the ELX-118P from overload. The Normal/Boost switch provides additional thrust in the bass range. The link output can be used to control an additional subwoofer. The ELX-118P is perfectly matched to the Electrovoice ELX-112P and ELX-115P active speakers, which can be easily positioned on the ELX-118P with a spacer rod thanks to the integrated high stand flange. The increase in power and the extension of the frequency response to the lowest bass levels ensure a superb low-frequency reproduction even for bass-heavy musical genres and make this setup ideal for medium to large venues.

Главное что работа субба не только слышна но и чувствуется физически!!! Соотношение цены и качества - идеальное.
Если говорить о транспортировке - вес в 31 кг оказался мизерным по сравнению с аналогами других производителей.
Но для полного удавольствия и в целях избежания работы субба на пределе пика - буду преобритать второй ELX118P 18"Р :)
