The Fender Alternate Reality Electric XII PF (3-Colour Sunburst) is a 12-string electric guitar from the Alternate Reality series, and a return to the original 1965 design created to cater to the then burgeoning Folk-Rock scene. The instantly recognisable “hockey stick” headstock is still in place, alongside a handful of updates that brings the Electric XII in line with modern instruments.
The dual Spilt-Coil Electric XII pick-ups are specific to this guitar, and accentuate a clean and balanced output to produce the jangly tones commonly found within early Folk-Rock bands. The difficult situation of intonation in a 12-string instrument is handled by the fully adjustable hardtail bridge (with 12x individual saddles) and a “Modern C” shape Maple neck with 9.5” radius Pau Ferro fingerboard. The Electric XII is a versatile guitar with a full tone that works well with a majority of musical styles.
