With the SAM loudspeakers, Genelec introduces a new line of sophisticated studio monitors that not only get the maximum sound and linearity out of their enclosure but above all set new standards in terms of functionality with Genelec's Smart Active Monitoring System (SAM for short).
The Smart Active technology stands for advanced monitoring network technology with automated calibration of the individual loudspeakers and comprehensive, software-based loudspeaker management functions. With the help of the "Genelec Loudspeaker Manager" software and its AutoCAL features, Genelec 8350A loudspeakers can be automatically calibrated and optimized for the corresponding audio workstation. Up to 30 devices can be networked in one room via the separately available GLM Network Adapter. In addition to calibration,
Genelec 8330A loudspeakers are equipped with completely newly developed, optimized cabinets, which not only allow the installed woofers to vibrate as freely and unaffected as possible but have also been designed for optimum linearity in order to achieve the audibility and hyper-accurate imaging that is required in the most demanding audio productions. Thus, the cabinet design of the Genelec 8330A features exclusively curved shapes that seamlessly integrate the waveguides of the Tweeter. In addition, the construction is cast entirely of aluminium, which, just as malleable as plastic, brings a significant increase in structural stability at yet very low weight. The included Iso-Pod Stands, on the other hand, guarantee excellent decoupling of the speakers and also allow the speakers to be angled individually to the listener's position.
Two Class D power amplifiers with 50 watts each drive the woofers and tweeters built into the sturdy die-cast aluminium housing. Despite its compact dimensions, the speaker delivers amazingly differentiated bass via the bass reflex channel. The included Iso-Pod Stands guarantee an excellent decoupling of the speakers and also allow individual angling of the speakers to the listener position.
