Prior to buying this Guitar I did a fair amount of research and played a Godin5th Ave and a Peerless. Both nice, but both small, and I would like a bigger nut width as I am a large man. The New Yorker is possibly not the best Jazz guitar in the world, but for a more roots jazz blues sound I'm pretty sure it would be hard to beat. I like it much more than the Godin - which is in itself a great guitar - and it is more useable for my hand size due to the larger nut. I would check you are happy with the string spacing - it is odd moving from my Strats to this, but what a guitar! The d deAmond pickup is the sound you have in your head if you think "Jazz" and "Smokey Nightclub". Not smooth, but a bit rowdy if necessary and always able to turn to Rockabilly. A bargain at the price and probably got me to buy a streamliner for my next guitar.
