Jack & Danny's AP-5 Parlor acoustic guitar is the ideal instrument for the sofa and on the go! The compact instrument has a body made entirely of Sapele and is suitable for both finger pickers and classically strummed chord work. Despite its smaller body dimensions, the Jack & Danny AP-5 Parlor has a full scale of 25.5" (648mm), which defines played tones and makes them sound aggressive. Last but not least, the instrument has a 2.5mm thick ABS binding, solid die-cast mechanisms and a bridge made of sonoceling.

The guitar is more beautiful than the pictures shows, with a thin satin finish leaving the surface pleasantly rough and uneven. It has a good volume and a good projection, focused on the mids… exactly what you expect form a mahogany parlour. It's an economic guitar, but a pleasant surprise for the price. Don't expect a professional tool, but a good companion you can keep near the sofa to play in the spare time. I think it's not good for beginners because of long scale (high tension) and relatively high action (it's good with bottleneck).
I didn't try it with open or flat tuning, where I think it will give its best, as the guitar arrived IN TUNE (!!) and I wanted to honour the work of the technician who setup the guitar for me <3, so I kept in standard tuning. There is not fret buzz and the end of the fret is smooth, just the g is not perfectly in tune at 12th fret (2-3/50 of tone). I bought a lot of things on this shop, this is the first guitar I buy here, but the quality of the service on a such a cheap guitar is excellent! Thank you Music Store.
Super little guitar! Played great out of the box with no tweaking other than tuning up. Wanted a guitar that is easier to carry around but which still has a good volume and a full size neck, and this one is perfect. It’s basically a hundred quid guitar so don’t expect it to sound like a thousand pound job, but for the price it’s ridiculously good quality!
(ONLY reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating was that I payed an extra few quid for what was billed as a slightly quicker delivery which I didn’t actually get. No big deal as it happens, but I could have saved myself a couple of quid if I’d known it would make no discernible difference!).
Honestly for £88 I am astounded at the quality of the guitar, it sounds and looks great, the guitar also plays really well and seems to have been set up prior to sale, I have come across more expensive acoustics that play and sound a lot worse than this!
I've just received my j&d parlour guitar , and I am over the moon with the quality , sound and look of the guitar . The finish and detail is so professional. I have bought guitars that are much more expensive than this and not had the same quality as my j& d guitar . And the price at under 100 pounds is a give away . Should be easily double that . Thank you .
