The J&D JB Mini 4-String Mini Bass Guitar in Surf Green takes inspiration from the popular Fender Jazz basses and comes in a more size friendly package.
Not only a great starting ground for young beginners of bass, but also a practical solution to intermediate bass players that want to travel without the constraints of a full sized instrument.
Built to high standards from a solid Alder body and a maple neck, the onboard 2 single coil pickups help to deliver a tone that punches above its weight and of course size!
The main features of the J&D JB Mini 4-String Mini Bass Guitar in surf green include:
Great bass for beginners, or as a side instrument for a guitar player. My main bass is a Fender Jazz Bass, but I needed an affordable small bass for travelling. I have had a few basses, but this one really came out as a great surprise. Light weight, of course, and very well crafted.
The sound more than decent and the build quality is very good. The only thing not good are the frets that needs a lot of work. Stick out a lot and can be close to dangerous to use as it was delivered. It's not hard to fix but a bit tedious.
I do not know the string brand but despite being a bit crude I like them and have so far not changed them.
It's a strange feeling playing bass on something that is, crazy all, as big as a fender stratocaster guitar, but has find no downsides so far. Just have to get used to it. The bottom tone is rich and full, it's just the top that is lacking a little from being top notch. But not much to be honest.
For the price you get crazy lot and something that is much more than a toy.
I bought this on a wim and if I continue like this as much as I do in a month or six I will consider buy another, but then maybe the precision model.
I had to return the first one due to buzzing frets, but it was worth the bother...
This sounds fantastic. I have several basses, and this sounds the best. Even with stock strings.
It's great fun to play. It looks great.
It took a little setting up, but nothing difficult.
The wood grain of the neck is really nice.
Bad points: the pickguard scratches easily. Needs tape to protect it. I think that's it.
Other than that and the return, I'd recommend it. Great value.
The Bass looks and sounds fantastic. The build is decent to especially for £100. Only issue I has was that the Bass is Definitely a MINI short scale Bass. So it can seem a tad small at first.
