The Shell Material

Mapex crafts the Voyager shells from Basswood, a wood that is comparable to native Linden wood. Regardless of its low price, it delivers exceptional sound characteristics and delivers first-class attributes for use in drum making. All of the shells of the Mapex Voyager series have wall thickness measuring 7.2 mm. The quality of craftsmanship of the shells as well as the hardware is typical of Mapex.

The Hardware

Even the hardware of the Mapex Voyager drum sets offer more. 3 cymbal stands (2x boom, 1 straight) are available in the Voyager sets. Just like the two foot pedals, the snare, hi-hat and double tom stand come from the compact and long-lasting 330 series from Mapex. Additionally a comfortable stool from the 250 series is also included. All of the stands of the Voyager sets are made of high quality chrome with large, non-slip rubber feet.

Quality on a Budget

The Mapey Voyager drums offer, next to excellent sound quality, a very visually pleasing aesthetic. The foil finishes are very insensitive and can be cleaned very easily. The extra small “Low Mass” lugs ensure for exceptional vibration behavior of the shells. All Mapex Voyager shells are quipped with Remo heads, the Bass drums are already dampened for an extra strong and saturated sound. A setup DVD is included to help you get started.
