High-quality woods and comfortable handling
With a particular focus on a lively and finely articulated sound with musical warmth, Paul Reed Smith selects only high-quality woods for the PRS Paul's Guitar. Accordingly, the electric guitar has a mahogany body with a solid curly maple top and a glued mahogany neck with a fingerboard made of Honduran rosewood, in which elegant brushstroke-bird inlays mark the positions. The not-too-strong "pattern" neck profile with its perfect curve also ensures optimum playing characteristics.
PRS TCI humbuckers with flexible coil-split circuitry provide musical clean and overdrive sounds with fine detail on the guitar amplifier.
TCI pickups with flexible switching
Paul Reed Smith chose two TCI humbuckers as the pickup for the PRS Paul's Guitar Yellow Tiger. Optimally tuned to the electric guitar in terms of capacitance and inductance (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance, TCI), the pickups deliver a particularly musical and detailed sound on the guitar amplifier, skillfully implementing every playful nuance in both the clean and overdrive channels. Two mini-switches between the volume and tone controls also allow the humbuckers to be split individually, so that the sound repertoire is supplemented by glassy single-coil sounds with a brilliant treble spectrum.
PRS Phase III locking tuners guarantee precise and stable tuning of the Paul's Guitar.
Optimally matched hardware equipment
Last but not least, the PRS Paul's Yellow Tiger is rounded off with hardware that is perfectly matched to the instrument. The proven PRS wraparound stoptail is used on the body, which supports the finely articulated tone of the electric guitar with brass inserts in the compensated string rest.
