!!! Please note our general conditions buying software products !!!
First of all its steinberg software and hardware, so yes, it will be/should be easy to set up which can be a stumbling block with planning a buying choice when they both differ.
Love the look of the interface easy to work your way around it and has midi and usb ports, clock/adat etc as you would expect.
Requires win 10 for this cubase version. There is no cubase disc its a download code with a usb licenser included.
Important i got a download license in the box for pro 11 not pro 8.5!! so at £666 it was great value.
How i installed; read the manual, but if at any point confused as being new to steinberg, read this;
First of all install the software for the interface but do NOT plug the hardware into the usb when doing this. The software should install three items and if it does it auto, in the right order- which should be yamaha steinberg driver first and etc...
use the code to download cubase via cubase license app. and make sure to keep usb licenser in the port
I would suggest and its only a suggestion that when all this is completed you switch OFF the pc/laptop. I didnt! and couldn't hear anything when rushing to work in cubase straight away! so i thought hang on lets reboot as follows.
Switch off harware and laptop/pc. Give it all a minute then Plug in the audio interface AND connect the usb, and switch that on FIRST. Then boot the laptop/pc. then switch speakers on.
Doing it this way makes sure the sound drivers are always found on boot up. cubase will ask you via a pop up window to use the yamaha steinberg asio as it opens up. check that box and all will be good. always keep the HARDWARE usb interface in the SAME usb port you used on installation.
If you have used previous versions you wont be stuck, i even liked the fact that in audio connections it could detect out one and out two were connected to speakers , so there was no headaches.
Every day if you are a newbie you will learn something new even if its a little by little and the drop down menus are not confusing to use. there is a full 1200+ page manual you can download.
I don't like the dark background of the software visuals but getting used to it. too many helpful templates perhaps as a project start but you can opt to open a new project thats empty and add your own audio/midi tracks one by one.
vast bundle of effects and dynamics and virtual amps.. amazing.
halion included and groove agent etc. you have to choose to download these as options as well as the cubase programme at license download centre.
audio interface sounds great with my mackie speakers
all in all im happy with everything, it took a long time to decide to buy this bundle but i would definitely recommend now ive got it and using it.
