The Tascam US-1x2 is the ideal USB audio interface for beginners. It is small, inexpensive but still equipped with high-quality components and has a microphone and a line/instrument input as well as an unbalanced stereo analog input via RCA sockets and an output that allows you to record vocals and a single instrument or a stereo source or stream them to the Internet or archive your cassette collection - at up to 96 kHz / 24 bits via one of the common DAW applications or recording apps under Windows, macOS or iOS.
The US-1x2 contains an ultra-HDDA microphone preamplifier developed by Tascam, which is characterized by very low noise and has a wide gain range of 57 dB for dynamic microphones and phantom power for condenser microphones. Other features include a latency-free direct listening function, a headphone output with level control, the ability to listen to the input signal in mono or stereo, and the option of muting via the software setting panel. A license for Cubase LE including Cubasis LE is also included. And last but not least, the interface can also be used independently for samples without a computer, provided it is operated with an optional mains adapter.
