The Tula Mic from Tula Microphones is a clever combination of a USB microphone and a mobile recorder. On the road, it is ideal for field recordings, recording demos, interviews or voice dictations. At home, the Tula Mic can be conveniently connected to your computer (Windows or Mac) and used as a USB microphone. The 3.5 mm jack connector also allows you to connect lavalier microphones, turning the Tula Mic into a small interface. In addition, the connector can also be used for headphones, and listen to recordings made on the memory card or on the computer.
The Tula Mic features unique noise reduction technology from Klevgrand, a Swedish software company. Called"Brusfi", it can't remove spells and screaming children in the background from recorded audio, but it does make an acoustically untreated room sound more like an optimized studio space. To do this, the device takes a short sample of the ambient noise when you hold the "NC" button and then filters it out unerringly. The humming ventilation of the computer or the whirring of an air conditioner can be kept out of the audio material in this way, so that only what you really want to hear is recorded. For safety's sake, though, when Noise Reduction is turned on, a raw track with all the noise plus a filtered track are recorded, so in any case nothing is lost that you desperately need.
In keeping with sustainable manufacturing practices, Tula Mics are all screwed and plugged together for easy repair and recycling at the end of their life. Tula is a supporter of the Right to Repair movement and does its best to follow the legendary Dieter Rams' 10 principles for good design, including making products that are extremely durable.
