The Victory VX The Kraken Amplifier Head is a 50/15/9/2W dual-mode guitar amplifier head featuring four 12AX7 valves and two 6L6 valves. Offering crushing clarity this 50W head delivers glorious gain for hard rock, metal, extended-range and progressive players. With classic British-inspired, crunching rhythm tones in Gain I mode, this head offers tight, aggressive American high-gain grind in Gain II, which is ideal for progressive and extended-range players. The bass focus switch offers you a tighter, more focussed bottom end, or more loose and resonant. Dual footswitchable master volumes give you two volume levels no matter which channel you have selected.

So my journey to buy a new amp was quite long, it took from me a year to find the amp that I’m looking for and to got convinced by it.
As a heavy metal player and prog. metal ( Dream Theater).
so i tried almost all the amps in the market, nothing can beat its sound, and price, to explain the sound of channel 2 in the kraken, imagine you had the dry crunch sound of the blue channel of the EVH 5150 combined with the Red channel heavy gain, so together they make the channel 2 in the kraken, also karaken has less noise than EVH.
Channel 1 is the British sound, which I’m not so fan for it, i use it for 2 purposes in recording, clean tone and distorted arpeggios, while in live i use it only for a clean tone.
just to be clear the clean tone in that amp is not designed to be a clean tone, i just lower the gain of channel 1 and crank the volume, but if you are looking for a clean tone with that amazing channel 2 sound, go for super kraken, it is the ideal solution but with extra cash and double watt.
The amp is light and small, nothing 50 watt in that size and weight. And amazing built quality.
Totally recommended amp head, for me it is #1 in the market, that sound of channel 2 in 50Watt with that price, nothing can beat it.
Just an advice for Victory guys, please install a longer feet, we don’t have to buy a longer one because you installed a really short one.
