The Yamaha YVS-100 Venova (White) is a Wind Instrument which has been designed especially for those wishing to learn, and has an easy Fingering, similar to that found on a Recorder. The YVS-100 is presented in a Lightweight and Durable Housing, has a Range of 2x Octaves and a White Finish. Capable of handling delicate melodies, the Venova is a simple, but powerful Instrument with a wide expressive Range. It is easy to clean, and largely immune to negative effects from water. The unique Branched Pipe structure and Meandering Design give the Venova a surprisingly rich Saxophone-like tone despite its compact size.
well, it sounds like a saxophone & it plays like a flute, it's not really easy for a beginner & it needs a relative good blowforce, maybe it will be easier with a thinner reed, I guess!
The idea is great, I had mine for 85,00€ but now it's a little more expansive.
I'm not a saxophone player, but I love the sound. By chance I saw a demo of the Venova on Youtube, which impressed me as I can play a few tunes on the recorder and the Venova fingering is pretty much the same. I did some comparison research on the available alternatives and the Venova came out top in all of them. The mouthpiece is a proper saxophone one and will take some time for me to get used to blowing and developing my 'embouchure'. Build quality is very good and the instrument is very light. For the price I can't fault it. Very pleased with the purchase - the rest is up to me.
