KeyLab mk3 | Universal MIDI controller | ARTURIA
Master keyboard controller from Arturia
The KeyLab Mk3 49 from Arturia is an extensively equipped USB master keyboard controller that offers space for an arpeggiator, twelve pads, nine touch-sensitive knobs, nine faders and chord mode in a compact space. The third Generation of the Keylab convinces with a high-quality component mix of aluminium and wood and looks elegant and futuristic at the same time. A new feature of the Mk3 is the large, high-resolution colour display, which can be controlled using eight context-sensitive buttons. The excellently crafted keyboard scores with a semi-weighted 49-key keyboard, which can be played with a pleasant accentuation and even generates aftertouch. The KeyLab Mk3 is therefore ideal for use on stage, in the home studio and wherever space is at a premium and durability is required. The twelve velocity-sensitive pads are ideal for recording drums and samples. The built-in arpeggiator can be used directly via the keyboard with several playback patterns. There is also an integrated chord function that allows you to play entire Chords with just one finger. Thanks to the transport function, global DAW functions such as start/stop and recording can be controlled directly from the KeyLab Mk3. Arturia has placed great emphasis on comprehensive DAW integration in the Mk3, including MCU and HUI protocols as well as intelligent mapping technology. The controller is therefore factory-prepared for Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Cubase, FL Studio, Reaper, Pro Tools, Bitwig, StudioOne and Digital Performer, among others. Settings can be made directly on the device or via the supplied software.
Connections
In addition to the pedal inputs for sustain, expression and aux (switches/buttons), the MIDI inputs and outputs are also located on the rear panel. These can also be used to play other instruments such as eg. that do not have their own keyboard. Alternatively, you can use it to integrate a special MIDI sequencer into the DAW setup or save data backups of synthesizers on the computer. The Arpeggiator can also be activated at this output. The data connection to the computer is made via USB-C. As an alternative to the USB-C connection, the KeyLab Mk3 can be powered by an external power supply unit if it is used purely as a MIDI master keyboard.
Free software package
The manufacturer provides a comprehensive download software package free of charge with the KeyLab Mk3 49. Please refer to the Arturia homepage for information on changes and compatibility with Windows and Mac systems and DAWs.
