DW Exotic Set from Australian Blackwood - Limited to 200 sets

The Exotic Pure Tasmanian Timber Shell Set is a professional high-end shell set from the American custom drum company DW made of Australian Blackwood wood, it is limited to 200 sets worldwide. Each of the collectibles is hand-numbered and has limited badges with the Australian flag. The Tasmanian Blackwood has a remarkable resonance and an extremely deep sound with lots of low-end bass. Equipped with Black Nickel hardware, VLT shells, True Pitch tuning rods, 3.0 mm True Hoops and a breathtaking Candy Black to Natural Lacquer Burst finish, the DW Tasmanian Timber Set leaves nothing to be desired. The Remo heads and the STM suspension Tom Mount guarantee a full sound that can unfold completely.

DW Exotic Pure: VLT shells made from Australian Blackwood

The high-quality shells of the Exotic Pure Set, manufactured according to DW Collector's standard, were made using the VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) method. This means that the grain of the Blackwood has been alternately aligned in the individual layers of wood, which significantly reduces the tension of the shells and lowers the fundamental tone of the drums. The individual layers are pressed under heat and then cooled in a controlled manner. This method gives the drums a stronger hold and the best sound. The outer layer of the shells is adorned with the elaborate Candy Black to Natural Lacquer Burst Finish, which in combination with the Black Nickel shell hardware results in a spectacular look. The Limited Edition Badges show the Australian flag, because the Australian Blackwood comes directly from the Australian bush and it was personally selected and numbered by DW Mastermind John Good.

DW High-End Features: True Pitch Rods and True Tone Hoops

All 6 shells of this drumset are equipped with True Pitch tension rods. In combination with the Remo heads and the 3.0 mm True Tone Hoops, the result is a full sound with lots of low bass and high tuning stability that is second to none. Each shell is numbered by hand and marked with the respective keynote in which it resonates. Of course, all shells in the set are also tonally matched with each other, so everyone gets the perfect shell set. A certificate confirming the authenticity and origin of the wood is included in the delivery. The Snare-Drum is equipped with the proven DW Mag Throw-Off, so that the wires can be loosened and tightened as soft as butter. Also two DW SM-991 tom holders are included, these can be mounted on a cymbal stand. The STM Suspension Tom Mount is attached to the two toms which provides optimal resonance.
