With the Epiphone Newport Bass Sunset Yellow Epiphone revives the rare Newport Student Bass, which made its debut in 1961, as part of the Original Collection. Based on the historic specifications, the practical four-string naturally comes in a set-neck design with a short 30.5" scale length, which not only contributes to the drizzling playing characteristics but also significantly supports the rich vintage tone. At the bass amp, Epiphone Bass Sidewinder and TB Pro pickups deliver amazingly flexible tones whose traditional character is always apparent. Of course, Epiphone completes the Newport Bass with authentic add-on parts in accurate vintage style.
Authentic vintage vibes in look and sound: The Epiphone Newport Bass Sunset Yellow is a reissue of the rare Epiphone Shortscale Bass from the beginning of the sixties.

In the construction of the Newport Bass Epiphone naturally follows the specifications of the original from the beginning of the wild sixties. Accordingly, the mahogany body and the glued mahogany neck together with the 30.5" short Shortscale scale length (775 mm) create the basis for a full vintage sound with a powerful bass foundation. The reduced string tension due to the short scale length and the pleasantly grippy "Medium C" neck profile also promise buttery smooth playing characteristics in all positions of the 20-fret Indian Laurel fingerboard.
