Effects compression for drums, bass, synths & guitars
The
Eventide Omnipressor
is an exact software emulation of the unit of the same name from 1971, which, in addition to the classic tasks of compression and limiting, masters a multitude of other dynamics processing and, when driven into saturation, quickly produces rich overtones. The central control element is the Function control, which is used to set the compression ratio on the one hand and the effective direction of the dynamics processing on the other. The Omnipressor can also be used as an expander or gate (which is a high ratio expander), or it can apply negative compression, reversing the volume ratios in the audio material so that, for example, the decay of a cymbal or a string is output louder than the sound of the stroke. So the Omnipressor is also a very practical tool for sound design.
