The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is the world's most popular valve guitar amp combo.
The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III is a three channel, all valve guitar amp offering a variety of incredible Fender tones, from transparent cleans to hard rock overdrive and everything in between. With a reputation for providing a wide range of tones to suit most music styles, the Hot Rod Deluxe is an impressively versatile amp.
The Hot Rod Deluxe features three channels - Normal, Drive and More Drive. For the Normal channel, there is a Volume control as well as a Bright switch to add some more of Fender's signature high end 'sparkle'. The Drive channel has many more controls, including Treble, Bass, Middle and Presence, designed to assist users in sculpting their own signature sound. The inclusion of the More Drive channel allows for an extra amount of drive to be added, useful for boosting the volume for solos.
The Hot Rod Deluxe MkIII is equipped with an effects loop and a jack input for a two button footswitch, as well as a spring reverb, all housed in a rugged black chassis with a silver grill cloth complete with a 12 inch Celestion G12P-80 speaker. The amp's tones are created using three 12AX7 preamp tubes and a pair of 6L6 Groove Tube output valves.
Quiet enough for rehearsals, but loud enough to gig with, the Hot Rod Deluxe's 40 watt output, and its ability to maintain the quality of its tones at any volume, make it a very popular choice with bedroom players as well as professionals.
The main features of the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III include:
Im from Russian, I play blues, blues-rock. This amp suits can be very useful! Clean channel - nice! Drive channel not bad for blues-rock. Im not use reverb, loop effects so can not say anything.
Musicstore, nice price!
Great Amp as usual with lots of great improvement like the speaker which is way better, black panel more usable and volume pot now is perfect.
The fender clean is the standard for the touring guitarist and accept very well any kind of pedals.
Dirty channel is better than the previous versions but not as good as "overdrive pedals in the clean channel".
A true Classic!
Ive played this amp multiple times in my local music shop, and tried it with lots of different guitars and effects and compared this to other amps.
So my main guitar is a fender telecaster, and what I aim for is an amp with a beautifull clean channel, a drive is not necessary since I prefer using effect stomp boxes.
So yeah, clean channel is great, it also has an fx loop, so this thing takes effects perfectly!
The reverb is pretty good, very fenderish however the deluxe reverb reverb is even better.
The drive is ok, not as good as a marshall though, so I recommend you to use stomp boxes in the clean channel to generate your drive...
The drive however is good for blues, its very crunchy imo, far from distortion even the more drive channel is not near a marshall distortion.
One con is that the amp is very loud, and the settings are quite limited, I mean by that that the eq doesnt really affect the sound to much so its really an amp to add extra effects
anyway, love this thing!
Pretty sturdy too
