The Plasma Voice from Gamechanger Audio is a monophonic synth voice that generates its sounds using a xenon tube. These high-voltage discharges from the plasma tube are converted into an analogue audio signal by a special rectifier circuit. The result is a very distinctive, independent sound that is unique in terms of its assertiveness and a certain hardness of sound. The electrical discharges are controlled by a specially developed ultrasonic pulse-width oscillator. This oscillator is controlled by envelope constructs that can be adjusted as desired and modulated via control voltage. A 2-band cut/boost equalizer and a slightly resonant 12 dB low-pass/high-pass filter are implemented to emphasize the sonic details of this unique circuit. Further parameters can be accessed using the shift function. Thanks to the 49 user presets, the best settings can be recalled again and again. With nine CV/Gate inputs, the module is well-equipped to generate the craziest sounds in a purely modular context. In addition, there is a complete MIDI-CC implementation on the input side. A MIDI-TRS adapter is included in the scope of delivery.
