The Gibson 1964 SG Standard Maestro Vibrola Pelham Blue Light Aged #202584 is a successful replica of that SG vintage, which marked the end of the 'Les Paul SG' era and came up with some welcome improvements. The beefier mahogany neck of the Murphy Lab 1964 SG Standard is glued with long neck base and hide-glue.
Long Neck Tenon & Hide Glue
The basis of the Gibson 1964 SG Standard Maestro Vibrola Pelham Blue Light Aged is the historically correct construction of the '64 SG as a starting point for this replica model. matching the instrument is composed of a one-piece body made of solid, yet lightweight mahogany wood and a neck also made of mahogany. The latter features the traditional long neck heel (Long Neck Tenon) and is glued to the body with glass-hard Hide-Glue for improved resonance. Last but not least, the beefier "Authentic '64 Medium C" neck profile evokes the usual classic feel in the style of the Gibson solidbody guitars of the late fifties.

Also the Kluson tuners in historically correct "Single Line/Double Ring" design of the sixties are subjected to the Murphy Lab treatment.
