Introducing the Neumann M 147 vacuum tube condenser microphone, offering a high-quality warm tube sound with cardioid directional characteristics and a classic design. At the heart of the M 147 is a dual diaphragm capsule that has been taken from legendary predecessors the U-47 and M 49. The tube in this microphone functions as an impedance converter and coupled with an efficient, transformerless output circuit guarantees an extremely low self-noise level. The tube can reproduce extremely low frequencies without distortion. The M 147 offers extremely advanced circuitry for a solid-state microphone.
The Neumann M 147 is very well suited as a vocal microphone but also works well as a spot microphone for all types of musical instruments. As mentioned, the low-noise tube circuitry means it is perfectly suited for modern recording. The tube microphone is addressed from the side and its headgrille cover protects the M 147 against wind and microphone pop. Both the microphone capsule and the circuitry of the M 147 are shock mounted to prevent structural noise.
The M 147 can handle extremely long cables without the audio signal being affected. Included with the microphone are a microphone cable, a metal swivel mount for a microphone stand, and a compact universal power supply for standard mains sockets. The Neumann M 147 is housed in an aluminium case.
