Precious woods and detailed workmanship
For the construction of the PRS Custom 24 Copperhead Burst the guitar builders around Paul Reed Smith use only selected woods, which lead to a perfect sound experience. For example, selected mahogany is used for the body, while the solid fiddleback maple top has a strong character and an even flame pattern. The glued mahogany neck with the well-formed "Pattern Thin" profile offers the perfect balance between rich grip and smooth playability. On the ebony fingerboard, traditional bird inlays also provide the best orientation between the 24 frets.
Two PRS 85/15 Humbuckers combined with the 5-way circuit provide versatile guitar sounds.
PRS 85/15 Humbucker for versatile sound options
The PRS Custom 24 uses two PRS 85/15 humbuckers as pickups, which were personally developed by Paul Reed Smith on the occasion of the company's 30th anniversary. These pickups convince with their clear sound, whose extended bass and treble spectrum offers the perfect basis for classic and modern sounds, from warm sparkling clean to singing overdrive to thundering riffs. The 5-way switch can also be used to call up different circuit combinations for different sound nuances:
Position 1: Bridge-Humbucker
Position 2: Bridge-Humbucker and split Neck-Humbucker parallel
Position 3: Bridge- and Neck-Humbucker
Position 4: Split Bridge-Humbucker and split Neck-Humbucker parallel
Position 5: Neck-Humbucker
On the headstock of the PRS Custom 24, PRS Phase III locking tuners promise precise and stable tuning.
High quality hardware
The equipment of the Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 Copperhead Burst is completed by high-quality hardware from PRS as well. On the body side, the strings are held in place by the proven PRS Gen III tremolo, which impresses with its smooth handling and high functionality and offers a pleasant support thanks to the rounded edges of the hand. At the headstock, the strings run straight from the saddle to the PRS Phase III Locking tuners. These guarantee a high tuning stability even with frequent vibrato use and make string changing much easier. The PRS Custom 24 is also supplied in an elegant PRS case, which offers the electric guitar the best possible protection during transport.
