Tascam HS-8

The Tascam HS-8 is the ideal device for multi-channel recording and playback to solid-state media. In typical Tascam tradition, it delivers extremely high quality audio with up to 192kHz/24 bit recording. Like Tascam’s HS-P82, the HS-8 recorder is operated with a colour touch screen which gives access to settings and tracks. There are 8 channels available and the Tascam fits a variety of multitrack roles first developed by Tascam and specialises in surround sound recording and post production playback from the HS-P82. It is ideal for dubbing and post production uses for location recordings captured on the HS-P82.

The Tascam HS-8 includes a mixer for monitoring purposes, and the stereo mix can be recorded live as a separate track. The HS-8 features both analogue and digital input and output, time-code and comes with a remote control which allows for operation from a separate room over RJ-45 connection. The HS-8 comes equipped with Ethernet capabilities, so that files can be transferred quickly over a network.

The Tascam records files as Broadcast WAV and uses a compact flash recorder to store files. To ensure your recordings are never lost, the HS-8 records simultaneously to two flash cards for instant back-up.
