is a high volume metal police whistle. Acme's first ever whistle, reported in The Times during the 1880's covered preliminary tests of a new cylinder shaped airfast whistle with no moving parts. Londons Clapham Common was the setting where, by all accurate accounts, Birmingham engineer Joseph Hudsons's invention could be heard over a mile away. Hudson was smart by inviting the Metropolitan Police to attend. Results ever since have been global sales to over 120 national forces of some 45 million original style Metropolitans.
