The Doepfer A-100LC9 is a wooden frame designed for racking Doepfer A-100 synthesizer modules.
This low cost mounting solution is 9U in height and has three rows for securing your A-100 modules. The Doepfer A-100LC9 also has a 230V power supply integrated, making it the most economic of the A-100 compatible cases.
The Doepfer A-100LC9 features include:
The PSU3 switching power supply built into the A-100LC9 processes an input voltage of 100-240 volts AC and is therefore suitable for use in the USA or worldwide, for example. Please note that we do not supply a suitable power cable outside the EU.
This basic modular case is better built and nicer looking than any of the photographs on this or Doepfer web sites would suggest. Everything is mounted securely inside and is clean as a whistle.
The only thing that could be improved is if Doepfer fitted the A-100BC bus connector cable as standard. This is the very cheap cable that chains the CV and GATE signals from one bus board to another. But plenty of people dont use the A-100 bus to transmit CV and GATE anyway, so it isnt that big a problem.
If you have ever used Doepfers DIY kit to build your own case (I have) then you will appreciate that you wont save very much over the price of Doepfers pre-built ones. This is a fine, cost-effective case with a great power supply (very important for modular synthesis!!). Highly recommended.
Very simple structure , no exterior but can customize as you wish. enough case for personal studio set up !
Shipping was quick, it took about 2 week to ggot this case in Japan from Germany. thanks!
The case is unfinished - if you're handy you can stain, paint or cover it. The PSU inside is beefy and should be capable of powering a full case of modules. It's not that pretty on its own, bit if you want a capacious case for a good price, this will fit the bill.
Doepfer's power supplies are very well regarded, and source plenty of current for almost all reasonable applications. I agree with the previous reviewer that it would be nice if the bus connectors for gate / pitch were connected, but for $2 worth of wire and crimp-on blade connectors, you can do it yourself.
Note to fellow North Americans: converting the PSU2 from 230V to 115V requires only 5 minutes with a soldering iron. If you've ever successfully soldered anything before in your life, you can handle this job. I've done it with both of my LC9 cases, since I imported both of them from Germany.
