This premium guitar series is crafted by hand in limited runs in beautiful Danzig by renowned guitar makers. The finished guitars are then delivered straight to us, cutting out any middleman, and that is how we are able to offer these high quality instruments at such a low price. Only carefully selected premium woods are exclusively used in the construction of the Forum IV. At Fame, fast drying methods are absolutely taboo! The adopted premium woods are all naturally dried and stored for long periods of time. This ensures that the final product doesn’t warp and remains absolutely tuning stabile. The wonderfully grained and high-quality flamed maple top of the Fame Forum IV SD satin in Translucent Brown is refined, powerful and shimmers vividly. Only the best Maples with clear and uniform flames are selected for this purpose. The two-piece, set top of the body is carved into an arched top, so that both the player as well as the hardware can really sink their teeth into the unmatched playability of the Fame Forum IV Satin. Finally the body is highlighted with a tasteful natural faux-binding.
He belongs among the greatest pioneers in the development of the electric guitar: Seymour Duncan is inextricably linked with his innovations and has become synonymous with the convincing and articulate sound of his pickups. Fame’s Forum IV SD models come equipped with a SH-4 JB model humbuckers in the bridge position and a SH-2N Jazz in the neck position. The classic setup of Seymour’s USA made pickups has impressed for decades with the perfect sound for modern systoles, down to its warm Lead Voice in the neck and firm and clearly defined Punch from the bridge.
Whoever is looking for that unmistakable Clean sound for softer moments, can operate the push/pull function of the volume knob to switch to single-coil mode. This activates the Piezo pickup in the GTM Piezo bridge from Schaller.
The neck with its individual profile as well as the various finish variations is possibly the most important aspect when selecting a new instrument, especially for the technicians among us. So it was all the more important, that in Danzig we develop a classic ‘C’ profile with a sleek and flexible design, yet offer enough for stability for soulful bends. The result is playability from the headstock all the way down the neck that is amazingly nimble with vibrato bends and the traditional blues attitude of legendary instruments of 50's and 60 that easily fly from your fingertips. The set in and satin neck features a long neck tenon which extends all way under the neck pickup, improving sustain, action and stability.
Next to the tonal woods and pickups, the hardware appointments of the Fame Forum IV Satin are also a real highlight! The popular combination of a TOM style GTM Piezo bridge with stopbar are all from the traditional manufacturer; Schaller, as are the famous and long-lasting performance of the M6 mini tuners at the other end of this instrument. The solid tuners with wear-resistant brass axels are still considered the poster child of classic closed tuners. All hardware on the Fame Forum IV comes in chrome!
“How does Music Store, despite the solid figured maple top, Seymour Duncan Humbuckers and Schaller Hardware mange to offer this guitar for this price? … Overall, this guitar possesses good resonating characteristics, is comfortable to play, provides excellent, versatile sounds, exemplary craftsmanship and also provides something for the eye!”
