The Gibson 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut is a successful replica of the iconic guitar model from the early 1960s. Made from a mahogany body with a glued mahogany neck in the historically correct 1960 Slim Taper profile, the doublecut design from the Gibson Custom Shop is naturally handcrafted and offers the look, feel and sound of the famous model. The instrument relies on two GibsonCustom P-90 pickups in soapbar design for sound conversion at the amplifier. Accordingly, the Gibson 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut delivers powerful and steamy sounds with an unmistakable vintage character, not least thanks to historically correct paper-in-oil capacitors and hand-finished wiring in keeping with the period. The hardware equipment also follows the guidelines of the time and consists of a one-piece wraparoundbridge and Kluson Strip tuners with white wings.

Workmanship and finish
The Les Paul Special Double Cut Cherry Red is based on traditional construction with carefully selected mahogany and a neck glued to the body in the traditional way, which promises a powerfulsound and long sustain. The not-too-strong"rounded" neck profile also ensures comfortable playing characteristics across all frets of the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, in which dot inlays mark the positions. The electric guitar is rounded off by the carefully applied nitrocellulose lacquer, which makes the Finish shine in cherry red.
