A fantastic evolution of a classic model. People fixate on recreations / re-issues of older versions of the Les Paul but I think that Gibson have finally got the updates right with this modern version. This retains everything great about Les Pauls and improves upon it. Read up on it and you’ll find that the chambered body does not diminish the resonance. The coil-taps make the guitar more versatile and the locking grovers are an improvement. A good step forward for the Les Paul.
I've had five Gibsons over the years and they've always felt like a compromise. I ended up only keeping one which was my go to Gibson. Took a punt on the Modern and wow, this is in my opinion the best Gibson Les Paul they've made for decades. It is incredibly well built, the sonic options are supreme and the new neck is stunning.
I'm selling my other Gibson and a load of other guitars, this one rules them all, fantastic guitar.
I've wanted a quite a long time this Gibson version cause of its neck profile, new design between the neck and body and of course the pickups. And it was just the right the time to buy a new guitar overall!
