The IK Multimedia iRig UA Android Guitar Effects Processor offers near-zero latency processing with AmpliTube on all Android devices compatible with Android 4.0 or higher, as well as supporting host mode/USB OTG. iRig UA can also be used as a digital recording interface when connected to a Samsung Professional Audio compatible device or smartphone or tablet with Android 5.0.
The iRig UA deals with all the processing separate from your smartphone. Because you're Android device is doing many other things and running different apps, you're not going to get a consistent amount of processing power. So taking it away from the device gives you stable processing power and a lot less latency, in fact it is able to provide 2ms round-trip total latency.
The iRig UA features a first-of-its-kind built-in digital signal processor (DSP) that solves the Android platform’s issue of manufacturer fragmentation and OS latency. The DSP provides the latest generation of mobile modeling technology, which can be controlled via its companion app, AmpliTube UA. This is a special version of IK's guitar and bass multi-effects processor and has been designed specifically for use with iRig UA.
Amplitube UA delivers a large and expandable library of fully adjustable guitar and bass effects. It lets you create your tone with 3 stomp box effects, an amplifier and a cabinet with accurate volumetric response modeling. Unlike other versions of Amplitube, Amlitube UA lets you place our stompbox effects either before or after the amplifier, allowing you to get more creative in your signal chain.
The iRig UA is great for recording those quick ideas when on the go and sports a 1/4" for guitar or bass, and an 1/8” headphone output with volume control, providing real time monitoring. It also features an 1/8" input, allowing you to hook you Android device up to an external sound source so you can play along to your favorite tunes while using the power of AmpliTube.
