With the Ibanez AEG5012 BKH, the Japanese traditional manufacturer reforms its ever-popular AEG series. In addition to a new coating, the electro-acoustic western guitar now also comes as a 12-string version with a laurel fingerboard and new Ibanez AEQ TTS pickup system with an integrated tuner. The combination of spruce top and okoume body gives the instrument a very warm and bright sound, which is also reproduced very naturally via the pickup. Its flat design and short scale length of 634 mm allow the player a very comfortable playing feeling even when standing, which makes the Ibanez AEG5012 BKH perfectly suitable for stage use. The overall appearance is rounded off with a noble high-gloss finish and matching chrome-plated die-cast tuner.

As for the guitar itself, this is now my favourite guitar, I also own a Yamaha APX600, which I thought was great, this has now blown that away. I love the 12 string sound of this guitar, it is really playable, actually the action is much better than my 6 string Yamaha. that I find it easier to play.
The sound is great both unplugged and through an amp. The onboard tuner I felt was a must for a 12 string, otherwise tuning that up would be quite a faff. Seems to hold tuning pretty well. Looks great, I paid £290 and think that is a great price. I also own an Ibanez Artcore AF55-TKF, but I believe the quality and action of the 12 string is better, it feels a level up in terms of quality.
I would describe my playing as competent, and this guitar is a real pleasure to play.
I've rated this as 5 stars for everything as the price point at the moment, this is an absolute steel!
