The Ibanez j.custom RG8540ZD is a six-string model and is part of the most recognisable range from this iconic manufacturer. The RG guitar has been defined by three decades of metal music and development, making them equipped for speed and strength. The j.custom RG8540ZD features a maple top, an elegant Tree of Life inlay across the fingerboard and is powered by three Seymour Duncan pickups. Each guitar comes with a hard case and certificate.
Built in Japan, this guitar features supreme craftsmanship and an array of high quality features that enhance the playing experience. Built with an iconic All-Access Neck Joint, the j.custom RG8540ZD facilitates unimpeded playability up to the highest positions of the titanium-reinforced neck. The body of this guitar is built from African mahogany and topped with AAA-maple, and leads to a maple/walnut neck with a Super Wizard profile that enables comfortable and quick playability. A rosewood fingerboard contains 24 jumbo frets and leaves of the Tree of Life as an inlay.
The j.custom RG8540ZD is able to produce versatile sounds for a range of genres through a Seymour Duncan TB-5 Custom Trembucker pickup and two STK-S4 single-coil pickups in the bridge and neck positions respectively. The TB-5 produces a hot vintage sound for classic blues, rock and metal tones with transparent warmth and lively dynamics. The STK-S4 pickups produce classic single-coil sounds with a bell-like clarity and articulation, without hum. These classic pickups are managed by a 5-way blade switch as well as general volume and tone controls.
In the bridge, the j.custom RG8540ZD incorporates the Ibanez Edge tremolo that provides intense stability to withstand the strongest applications of the whammy bar. This guitar is also equipped with the ZPS-3 Zero Point System and provides the Tremolo with a fixed rest, so that the tuning is maintained even with a string break.
