To give the California Central 5 Bass a crisp sound and first-class playing characteristics, Sandberg relies on proven construction details and an extra-long 35" scale length (889 mm), which precisely integrates even the B-string into the sound pattern thanks to the increased string tension. While the ash body fits comfortably thanks to the generous contours and convinces with a perfect balance on the strap as well as on the thigh, the flat C-profile of the six-ply maple neck conveys agile playing characteristics up to the highest registers of the 22-fret maple fingerboard.
In the sweet spot between the bridge and the center of the body, a Sandberg Plus humbucker with active 3-band electrics delivers punchy bass sounds.

The electrical sound conversion of the California Central is done by a Sandberg Plus humbucker. Placed in the sweet spot between the bridge and the center of the body, the powerful pickup delivers an extremely powerful sound that captures even the B string with tight precision thanks to the harmonious balance between punchy bass and brilliant treble. To perfectly adjust the Bass sound in the important frequency ranges, the electric bass guitar features an active 3-band equalizer.
On the headstock of the Sandberg California Central, open Sandberg tuners guarantee accurate and stable tuning of the bass guitar.

Of course, Sandberg completes the California Central 5 MN Black matte E-Bass with indestructible Hardware from our own house.
