With the STAGEPAS 1K mkII, Yamaha presents the successor of the popular Stagepas1k. The new active column system is more practical in handling, more powerful and more professional than its predecessor. It stands out from many mobile PA systems in terms of sound quality, output power, ease of use and portability by simply offering more of everything. This new PA system is ideally suited for a wide range of sound reinforcement tasks and is also very quickly ready for use on site.
The completely redesigned Stagepas1K Mk2 features a 1,100-watt power amplifier in Class D technology, which enables a sound pressure level of up to 125 dB SPL. This means that it has more power and more pressure with the same compact dimensions and weight. The powerful power amplifier drives a high-frequency array speaker system with 10 x 1.5" drivers and a large 12" subwoofer. An impressive 170° horizontal dispersion angle and 30° vertical dispersion angle provide clear, high-quality sound over a wide listening area.
Offering outstanding flexibility for a PA system of this size, the 5-channel digital mixer features three channels of mono mic/line inputs and stereo inputs, with two of the mono input channels featuring Hi-Z connectivity for direct input from acoustic-electric guitars and other instruments. Additionally, playback with Bluetooth devices is supported, as well as a variety of input sources from instruments to CDs to PCs and smartphones.
A professional live mix is quickly found with the STAGEPAS 1K mkII column system. Adjustable with just one knob each are the 1-button EQ per channel, the SPX effects as well as the setting of the summing compressor during rehearsal or performance via Bluetooth.
You can also save customized settings for specific songs or applications to shorten your setup process in the future and maintain continuity from one gig to the next, and even control the volume of multiple STAGEPAS 1K mkII units from the application.
Using the new Controller App for STAGEPAS 1K mkII, the 1-button EQ, the 4-band PEQ and also the "Ducker" can be controlled remotely via Bluetooth. This "ducker" feature allows a microphone to automatically take precedence over another sound source by simply speaking into the microphone. When you stop speaking, the other sound source is returned to its original level, eliminating the need for a mixer operator for this simple but valuable feature.
The app is available for iOS and Android. However, the new app is not compatible with the old Stagepas1K because of the many additional options.
Linking two STAGEPAS 1K mkII or one STAGEPAS 1K mkII to a DXL1K provides a wider coverage area and higher output power for large performances. Both stereo and mono playback are supported, and when set to mono, the inputs of the two paired units can still be used: When pairing 2x STAGEPAS 1K mkII, up to six mono inputs plus two stereo inputs can be used; when pairing STAGEPAS 1K mkII and a DXL1K, up to five mono inputs plus one stereo input.
Finally, the Yamaha STAGEPAS 1K mkII stands out for its ease of setup. Just plug the spacers and speaker unit into the subwoofer and the setup is basically done. There are no cables, no speaker stands or any other additional equipment.
A matching speaker case for transporting the entire system, including spacer rods, is already included. A compartment for accessories is also included.
