QARV from After Later Audio is a Swiss Army Knife for modulation and signal processing. At first glance, QARV offers four attack/release envelopes with adjustable curve characteristics and four VCAs. Thanks to sensibly placed normalizations, wide parameter ranges and different channel equipment, the module can also be used as a function generator, dual LFO/oscillator, dual slew limiter and as a synth voice. The four channels differ in their features: 1 and 4 are almost identical, 2 and 3 have the same design. Common to all channels is the normalization of certain inputs and outputs from 1 to 4 and the envelope controls the VCA. Therefore QARV can also be used as a VC mixer. With skillful patching, QARV also cuts a good figure as a synth voice. Channels 1 and 4 can be operated unipolar as A/R envelope or with fixed voltage 5V respectively 10V. In addition, the inputs can be switched between IN (slew limiter) and TRIG (gate for the envelope). Thanks to end-of-phase triggers of the Attack and Release times, more complex envelope models can be patched with QARV. Channels 2 and 3 can also be operated unipolar as A/R envelope or bipolar as LFO respectively VCO.
