As pickup for BFR Grapes or Wrath Luke III Music Man chooses two Custom Wound humbuckers, which elicit first-class Classic rock sounds from the guitar amplifier. The neck humbucker with ceramic magnets promises warm yet transparent tones for sparkling cleans and singing solos, while the hotter bridge pickup with Alnico magnets provides juicy Distortion sounds with well-measured aggressiveness and assertiveness. In addition, the Steve Lukather Signature guitar features a Music Man Custom preamp, whose optional gain boost tickles the last ounce of distortion out of the guitar amp after pressing the Push/Push switch in the Volume knob.
On the compact Music Man "4+2" headstock, Schaller M6 locking tuners ensure accurate and stable tuning.
